Casimir Pulaski emigrated to North America as a soldier of fortune in order to aid the colonists in their battle against British oppression. During the American Revolutionary War, he saved the life of George Washington and became a general in the Continental Army. He died of wounds suffered in the Battle of Savannah.
It is commonly believed that Pulaski was laid to rest in Monterey Square in Savannah but in truth his spirit lives and moves along the streets of Savannah. It is this spirit, one of defiance in the face of tyranny and love of Liberty, that influences many of the citizens of this fine old city.
This site is devoted to them...and the Spirit of Pulaski.
